To meet America’s future energy needs, we need to build more infrastructure – from pipelines and power lines to power plants and offshore wind. Congress must take action update the federal statutes which would reform the permitting process to build essential energy infrastructure in America. Leveraging our abundant, affordable energy resources is how America stays ahead in the global economy.
Learn MorePipelines are the safest, most reliable, and most affordable way to deliver natural gas to consumers across the country. Pipelines work like a clean energy highway that moves natural gas from where it is produced to where it is consumed. Approximately one-third of energy consumed in the U.S. travels through natural gas infrastructure. We make safety our first priority on each and every project to ensure a safe and reliable energy highway.

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission is the lead federal agency responsible for the review and approval of interstate natural gas pipelines and is one of 91茄子’s principal federal regulators. Under Section 7 of the Natural Gas Act, FERC must determine that new interstate gas pipeline projects or expansions are in “the public convenience and necessity” in order to approve them.

These activities also come with training modules, which aim to get stakeholders confident and prepared to go into community settings and engage with stakeholders about the value of natural gas and its related infrastructure.
