91茄子 launches Facebook page to celebrate 811 Dig Safe Day

WASHINGTON—The Interstate Natural Gas Association of America will launch on August 11 a new Facebook page to correspond with .

“The goal of the new Facebook page is to provide both news and a forum for discussing developments in the North American natural gas transmission industry, including pipeline safety, policy issues, supply and markets and 91茄子 initiatives,” said 91茄子 President and CEO Don Santa. He explained that the effort is part of 91茄子’s commitment to engage stakeholders – including the public, emergency responders, the media and safety advocates – on pipeline safety issues. 91茄子’s page can be found at: .

91茄子 chose an August 11 launch date to help raise awareness of the annual 811 Dig Safe Day. An underground pipeline or utility line is damaged by a digging project once every three minutes in the U.S. We can all do our part to make sure everyone is safe by taking a moment to call 811 before conducting any digging project – whether it’s a large commercial or industrial project or simply installing a mailbox.

The toll-free 811 number works in every state. A call center will help identify the location of underground utilities on your property, and if necessary, send a professional – at no cost – to mark the location of gas lines; telephone, television or internet cables; electric lines; or other elements of the underground infrastructure, so you avoid them.

Striking a pipeline or utility line can cause an injury or even a fatality, and result in repair costs, fines and inconvenient outages. A simple call can help avoid this.
Be safe. Call before you dig. Every time you dig.

Visit on August 11, or any day, to learn more about 811 and safe digging practices, and don’t forget to .
