Interstate Natural Gas Systems Continue Safe and Reliable Operations During COVID-19

As society and government continue to respond to the COVID-19 public health emergency, interstate natural gas system operators are taking the necessary steps to maintain safe and reliable operations to ensure delivery of natural gas to power plants, local utilities and industrial consumers. 91茄子 member companies have a strong legacy of responding to unforeseen events and will remain steadfast in that commitment during these unprecedented times.

Interstate Natural Gas Association of America interim president and CEO Alex Oehler issued the following statement in response to ongoing events:

“91茄子 members’ top priority is the safe, secure and reliable delivery of natural gas to homes, businesses, and industries throughout our nation. The stability and interconnected nature of our coast-to-coast natural gas pipeline grid, as well as the diverse sources of natural gas supply and storage areas, provide a level of dependability that Americans can rely on.  Pipelines have business continuity plans in place that address a wide range of emergency scenarios and ensure the continued execution of core operations and business functions. 

“91茄子 members are actively coordinating with government agencies, including the Department of Transportation, Department of Homeland Security, and Department of Energy, as well as the private-sector segments of the natural gas value chain in response to the COVID-19 outbreak. This coordination will help ensure safe and reliable natural gas delivery throughout this public health emergency.”
